Our Story

Sister Swell is an all-women’s surf retreat in Encinitas, California. Whether you’ve never picked up a surfboard or just want to get better- we’re here to support you on your surfing journey. We want more women to feel empowered and stoked in the water- so we created a space where you can come as you are, make friends and improve your skills in a supportive, fun-times-only environment.

Founder and retreat host Elyse is a passionate ocean lover and community builder. Raised in Encinitas, she loves to share the magic of her hometown with others. When she found herself searching for a surf retreat that was for women, close to home and just a few days long, she came up empty-handed. So, living in a surfing paradise, she decided to create exactly what she had been looking for — and Sister Swell was born. A fellow mother, sister, daughter and friend- she can’t wait to share this experience with you!
